18th October 2021

After some recent chats about gravity, it made sense to go to the home of Isaac Newton for an explore.

We had a look at the Apple tree and talked about the time period. Then went into the science centre and Benedict loved exploring the light spectrum, the centrifugal force and the inclined plane.

He carried on the story he’s been writing, adding in a character from space who experiences zero gravity.

We talked about our strengths and things we’re having to work hard on at the moment. He shared some and so did I and we drew pictures as a list to remember and look back on of the things we’re trying at.

This time we were looking at place values and as we thought about bigger and smaller objects and their relationships with gravity. We explored ways to show relationships between numbers that are greater than or less than. He was interested in some of the other place value worksheets and worked through a lot of these on his own.

In the afternoon he played with his numicon acting out numberblocks with songs and stories.
